Creating a circular economy

The plastic cup you have in your hand is made from 30% recycled plastic material.
A small step in our journey to being a more sustainable brand by creating a circular economy.
During the MOE circular trial with 5 Alshaya brands, including Starbucks, over 16 tons of plastic waste was collected, processed, and turned back into usable products.
Here is the journey the waste went on.

Plastic waste is taken to Dulsco (waste company) and consolidated and baled.
Baled plastic waste then moved from Dulsco to Dgrade (plastic recycling company) to be turned into flake which is required to manufacture new product.
Plastic flake is then acquired by Al Bayader (packaging manufacturer) to be used in new packaging manufacturing.
Final product is a cup made from 30% recycled plastic.
